LOGLINE
When new immigrant Santosh Surapaneni buys an ailing hardware shop in a depressed town in upstate New York, he sparks irreversible changes in his family, his American employees and the neighborhood.

STORYLINE
With the help of a well-off uncle, Santosh Surapaneni embarks on his dream of being a business owner in America when he purchases a rundown hardware shop in rural New York. Sure, the shop needs some TLC, but Santosh sees the glass as half full, nothing hard work and compassion couldn’t fix. His wife, Lalita, however, is another matter…to her the glass is, well, nearly empty. She resists change,  holding dearly to her fading culture and memories of their native India. Add to this, the disgruntled employees, who were in the process of raising the money to buy the shop before Santosh snatched it up, and the last thing they feel like doing is showing the Indian the ropes. Lost and desperate, Santosh struggles to make the hardware shop successful,  and in the process discovers what it means to be American.

A lonely but loveable cab driver can’t express his love to the woman of his dreams, but when the Gods appoint him the next Cupid of New York City, he’s forced to make all the lonely singles of Manhattan, including himself, express true love at a risky cost.  But love can only make life better right?

STORYLINE
New York City Singles are in a fearful, loveless place and our hero Ahmed Ibrahim is one of them.  But it’s not until the Gods above have had it with all the Mortal Singles down below, that he’s called for duty.  The Gods feel a 21st Century Cupid must be appointed to help all these loveless souls who’ve lost their way and Ahmed is perfect for the job.  He’s got the city down, he’s always driving these lonely Singles around, but mostly, he has a pure heart.  He’s also one of the most reticent and in need of love.  Ahmed has managed to hide himself in his little yellow cab and in his little Harlem apartment for so long.  But it seems God always dishes out big jobs with big lessons behind em’.  Needless to say, Ahmed’s life spirals out of control as he’s forced to help all the new people in it, and in the process he’s acting stranger than normal, which is only driving his ladylove further away.  Maybe this whole plan is a tall order for one little cabbie in Manhattan.

STORYLINE
The last thing Ravi and Radha expected when their parents set them up was to fall in love.  When parental consent meets a match made in heaven, what could go wrong?  In New York’s Jackson Heights, the most diverse community in the world, the expected is unexpected.  Enter Felicia, Ravi’s fiery Columbian ex-girlfriend, and Ganesh, a bungling but well-intended security guard trying to fend for his family, and suddenly, obstacles abound!  With jealousy, jewelry theft, and poisoned curry to contend with, even Divine Intervention may not be enough to get this arranged marriage to go right.

Two poor maids, insignificant and on the periphery of society, decide to change their life and start their own Maids Company.  But taming their staff of volatile, neurotic, self-sabotaging maid comrades into good employees is only the tip of the iceberg.

STORYLINE
Sadhana and Charu work at Heavenly Caress, a posh apartment complex in Mumbai.  But they are at the bottom of the totem pole, two maids who have no money, no voice, and not even any control over their small jobs.  Sharmaji, the building’s Head of Security, is an ex-Army officer who was held back at “Major” and never got the recognition that he felt he deserved.  Bitter and on a power trip, Sharmaji terrorizes his day laborers, takes a generous cut from their meager salaries, and never lets them forget for a second how lucky they are to be working at the most coveted condos in all of Mumbai.  Though their colleagues stay mum, these two maids have a lot to say, and big dreams.  That’s when MumBai Company is born, a company of the maids, for the maids and by the maids.  They’re going to clean up Heavenly Caress, one floor at a time.  But training an army of cranky, resigned maids to be good employees is just the beginning.  And Sharmaji is a whole other cleanup job!
